Storm Henk chaos as M1 flooding causes 'severe' delays


There is severe flooding on a major UK motorway this evening as Storm Henk causes travel chaos across the UK.

Highways bosses have warned of travel disruption on the M1 in Meadowhall, near Sheffield, after heavy flooding on a major slip road.

National Highways says that there is “severe” disruption being caused by both lanes being closed on the southbound entry slip road to the M1 at junction 34, the turn off close to the popular shopping centre.

The Met Office currently has a yellow warning for rain in Sheffield, along with other parts of the country, which is in place until 9pm tonight.
