Store closures LIVE: Boots to axe three sites in January with many more to follow

Several major retailers announced the closure of brick-and-mortar sites in 2023, including the health and beauty giant, Boots.

The company confirmed the loss of 300 UK stores with a timeline stretching to the end of 2023.

Now in 2024, the popular chemist will embark on a wave of new closures, effective almost immediately.

Customers across the country could see their local pharmacy disappear from the high street in a matter of weeks after several sites were earmarked for closure this month.

Boots will be joined by other big-name brands including Tresspass and Sports Direct in shutting physical shops for good in a short time frame.
