A massive sinkhole has opened up on section of a road in a South Tyneside residential street.
Video footage shared online shows damage to a stretch of road on Broughton Road, in South Shields, with several cars appearing to sink into the ground.
Emergency services, including police and fire crews, are currently at the scene of the incident which happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
