Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018 was one of the “last times” the duke and Prince William were happy in each other’s company, a royal author has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from the Royal Family ever since he and Meghan quit their duties and moved to the US in 2020.
However, his relationship with the Prince of Wales has been damaged even further following the couple’s explosive claims against the Firm over the years.
And according to royal author Robert Hardman, the wedding on May 19 2018 and how their brotherly bond appeared back then carries a ‘sombre’ significance today.
According to OK! Mr Hardman said: “With the benefit of hindsight, we’re left feeling it was one of the last times they were happy in each other’s company.
“You can’t help looking back and thinking what might have been, but at the time it all felt very relaxed and friendly.”

This included the likes of Idris Elba, James Blunt, Oprah Winfrey, James Corden, Carey Mulligan, Tom Hardy, Sir Elton John, Serena Williams, the Beckhams, the Clooneys and Meghan’s Suits co-stars.
Also in attendance were Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the then Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall, the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara and Mike Tindall, the then Earl and Countess of Wessex, Edward and Sophie, and their two children, as well as Peter and Autumn Phillips and members of the Middleton and Parker Bowles families.
Meghan Markle’s mother Doria Ragland was a guest of honour, however, it was King Charles who walked her down the aisle as her father, Thomas Markle would not attend due to his recent heart surgery.
Meanwhile, approximately 250 members of the British Armed Forces were involved in the wedding, most of whom came from units linked to Prince Harry.
