Plumbing that circulates hard water around the home may lead to some unsightly water stains building up around the bathroom taps, as well as the glass shower door.
Not only unsightly, but if left to build up over time, the minerals found in hard water can result in scratches appearing on the glass panel.
You may have tried to remove the dirty spots with a commercial cleaner but found that it’s very hard to get rid of the hard water marks.
For reinforcement, you will need to create a natural, fruity mixture that does all the hard work for you in as little as 30 minutes.
One cleaning solution to consider when it comes to sprucing up the bathroom is natural distilled white vinegar and lemon.
The Spruce explained: “Distilled white vinegar and lemon juice contain acids that will help break the bonds the minerals in hard water have formed with the glass surface.”

How to clean the glass shower door
Firstly, combine one part of distilled white vinegar or lemon juice with one part of distilled water. Secondly, place an old towel at the bottom of the glass panel to catch any drips when cleaning.
Thirdly, starting at the top of the glass shower door, spray the mixture all over until every part of the glass panel is drenched.
Leave the fruity solution to remain on the glass shower door for at least half an hour, then using a microfibre cloth, easily wipe away the mineral deposits.
Working in a circular motion to remove the soap scum, rinse the cloth often so that you can rub away the hard water marks quickly.
The Spruce added: “While vinegar is non-toxic, wear rubber gloves to protect your hands, and eye protection to avoid splatters to the eyes.”
Once the hard water stains have been loosened and removed from the glass shower door, rinse the area with fresh water – and don’t fear, this will not undo all your hard work.
Use a squeegee brush to remove most of the water, so not to let any more deposits happen, and then buff well with a clean, lint-free microfibre cloth.
For tougher stains, you can make a baking soda paste to act as a gentle abrasive cleaner; this can be made with three parts baking soda to one part water.
The baking soda paste should be applied after the vinegar-lemon mixture has been allowed to sit on the shower glass door for 30 minutes.
Moreover, the baking soda paste should be left to sit for 10 minutes to work its magic before you spritz the vinegar solution again, rinse with water, then buff dry.
