Savoury snacks branded 'unsafe to eat' due to risk they contain moth larvae

When there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it may be withdrawn from shop shelves or recalled, which is when customers are urged to return the product.

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the latest active food recall is for Daylesford Organic products.

The manufacturer runs several cafes in London in addition to a popular farm shop in the Cotswolds and is known for its rustic hampers, organic food and gifts.

Included in their offering is a selection of savoury biscuits and crispbreads, of which multiple batches have been subject to an urgent food recall.

A statement from the FSA explained: “Daylesford Organic is recalling Daylesford Organic Rye, Spelt & Raisin Crispbreads and Daylesford Organic Savoury Biscuit Selection because of the presence of moth larvae which makes these products unsafe to eat.”
