Russell Brand ‘incredibly blessed’ to be baptised in the Thames joined by Bear Grylls

He has strongly denied all the allegations.

The controversial star told his followers he felt “incredibly blessed” after the baptism.

“I got baptised and it was an incredible, profound experience,” he said. “I’m so grateful to be surrendered in Christ.”

However, the context surrounding Russell’s religious awakening has raised some eyebrows.

One X (formerly Twitter) user joked: “It’s a good thing you found God because you’re about to find out what s***ting for two weeks feels like if you actually put your body in the River Thames.”

Another said: “I shouldn’t judge anyone’s belief in Christ but something about Brand’s conversion seems very off and exhibitionist.”

“This man is making a joke of our faith. What a joke,” a third replied.

Although many of his fans were supportive of his move to Christianity below his Instagram post.

“Isn’t it interesting how it bothers people to see someone get baptized or find God. Almost like it disturbs people’s inner demons,” one follower remarked.
