Members of the Royal Family failed to spot Prince Harry’s “unhappiness” in his position, despite trouble brewing long before he met Meghan Markle, an expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit the Firm in 2020 and moved to Montecito in California, where they are now raising their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
At the ‘Sandringham Summit’, which was attended by other senior royals, Harry expressed a desire for him and his wife to be ‘half-in, half-out’ of the institution, however, this idea was quickly squashed by the late Queen Elizabeth.
Royal writer Valentine Low told The Sun: “I don’t think the Royal Family missed a trick [but] they could have explored other ways of being hybrid.”
He added: “Harry’s unhappiness had been building up for some time, even before Meghan showed up. If it had been spotted earlier, it could have been done so much more amicably.”
