Queen Letizia has been spotted on her second royal outing of the month wearing a bright pink flamingo coat and fashion-conscious royal fans have issued the same complaint about her outfit.
The Spanish Queen, 51, wore an oversized wool and cashmere blend felt coat, with boxy shoulders and sharp lapels by Caroline Herrera. Queen Letizia was at an outing with Hollywood icon Martin Scorsese at the Madrid Film Academy.
It caught the attention of fans, not because of why she wore it, but how she styled the outerwear, with the coat draped over her shoulders, revealing a white crisp suit underneath, also by the same designer.
Fans were quick to comment on the Spanish Queen’s recent styling on social media. User @birdnerd327 on Instagram wrote: “I hate the coat as a cape thing, but I love the pink and white together!”
Another Instagram user, @ojeannine, wrote: “LOVE that coat! But I wish she’d wear it as a coat.”
Underneath the coat placed over her shoulders like a cape, Queen Letizia re-wore a white suit – a single-breasted blazer buttoned up, and straight trousers to match, costing £1824, by Caroline Herrera. A fine-knit v-neck jumper was worth underneath the suit.
It is not the first time Queen Letizia has worn the pink coat over her shoulders, as she seems to enjoy the trend.
In November 2023, the Spanish Queen visited the Danish Architecture Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark, and wore the same bright pink coat in a similar fashion. For this previous event, she was joined by her husband, King Felipe and Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, as the royals hoped to engage more people in the world of architecture.
Among her fashion critics, Queen Letizia has also been praised for her style during her outing with Hollywood icon Martin Scorsese at the Madrid Film Academy.
The Queen completed her look with a stunning pair of ultra-trendy patent nude Mary-Janes with a block heel by Patrizia Pepe and also carried a white leather shoulder bag by Furla.
Instagram fan, @fen_nie_ada said, “This woman knows how to dress herself!”, whereas user, @carmenligia wrote “The pink looks so pretty with the white outfit”.
It has already been a busy month for the King and Queen of Spain, as the couple recently hosted a reception of the Diplomatic Corps at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid – the royal couple’s home and official working residence.
At the event, whilst shaking hands with attendees, Queen Letizia suffered a wardrobe blunder, before gracefully returning to action with a warm smile on her face.
