Royal Family posts new job with opportuntiy to work with King Charles

King Charles is on the hunt for a new security protection planner – someone who can demonstrate a high level of tact and discretion. The role, titled ‘Event Security Coordinator’, comes with a £30,000 annual salary and will be primarily based at Buckingham Palace, but travel to other locations will also be required.

The job advert, posted on the royal website, states: “It’s supporting the team to deliver extraordinary events and helping to protect one of the world’s most famous institutions. Security Liaison provides Protective Security advice and support to the Royal Household, covering multiple Residences across the UK.”

The successful candidate will work closely with the Police to plan, coordinate and ensure the security of all royal and ceremonial events. As each event varies in size, logistics and guests, the security planner will need to liaise with colleagues across all departments to understand each event, acting as the main point of contact for all security-related matters.

The role is diverse, but the primary responsibility will be to ensure that every event is delivered on time and securely. It’s a fast-paced, high-profile position with significant responsibilities from the outset.

However, the King’s security planner will need to rise to the challenge and take pride in their contribution, reports the Mirror.

The job advert goes on to say: “This role is based at Buckingham Palace, but you will be expected to work at Windsor Castle at least one day a week, with national travel required on occasion. There will also be a requirement to undertake evening and weekend working and on duty presence for all events on a rota basis.”

It further states that previous event security experience is needed, as well as “excellent influencing and negotiation skills”. The deadline to apply is March 24.

Meanwhile, King Charles has been keeping himself occupied by continuing his royal duties – despite his shock cancer diagnosis. Although Charles has stepped back from “public-facing duties”, he continues to work behind the scenes, dealing with paperwork and meeting ambassadors.

On March 6, the 75-year-old King was seen shaking hands with Algeria’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Nourredine Yazid, and the Ambassador of Mauritania, Samba Mamadou. He also had a virtual meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this week.

Even though he’s cut back on some duties in the short term while he continues treatment, the King remains active behind the scenes.
