Royal Family LIVE: King Charles ‘should’ve been firmer’ with Prince Harry

King Charles “should’ve been firmer” with Prince Harry in his younger years, claims one royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex has been called out for not being able to take “responsibility” and for always being allowed to “play the fool”.

The 39-year-old has issued a number of attacks on the Royal Family – particularly over the past year.

In his highly-controversal memoir Spare, which was released in January 2023, Harry discussed the breakdown of his relationship with his elder brother and claimed that his father, the now-King Charles, previously made several jokes at his expense.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward now claims that he would have been given “a bit more early discipline”.

In an extract from her new book My Mother and I, which was shared by the Daily Mail, Ms Seward explained: “As the spare, Harry had always been allowed greater licence than his elder brother. He’d play the fool and get away with childish pranks.”

Although amusing his father and late mother in his early years, the expert added: “Later events suggest, however, that a bit more early discipline might have been helpful.”

Ms Seward suggested that, in order to avoid Harry creating “so much worry”, King Charles should have been “firmer” with him.

She added that, in the present, Harry has a “tendency to blame others when things don’t work out” and that he has an “unwillingness to take responsibility for his own actions”.
