Royal Family fans all saying the same thing as Prince William makes solo visit to Cornwall

Prince William visited the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall today, with the future King spending time in the Isles’ only hospital.

Locals appeared pleased to see the Prince of Wales, but residents and royal fans online were all asking the same question: how is Princess Kate?

Tracy Smith, administrator at St Mary’s Community Hospital in Hugh Town, greeted the 41-year-old when he arrived. She hosted his tour of the small medical centre following his visit to the harbour where he bought his entourage Cornish pasties.

Ms Smith told PA: “I asked William about his wife Kate and he said: ‘She’s doing well, thanks,’ and I suggested they might like to come for a visit and bring the children.”

William was given a card for his father the King – also a cancer patient – and Kate by Matron Lynda McHale, who said: “It was a card from my granddaughter who wanted to wish his father and wife ‘get well soon’.”

Online fans expressed similar concern for Kate and said they longed for her return to royal duty.

Responding to a sun-soaked video of the Prince arriving on the Isles by boat, one royal devotee wrote on X: “I so miss seeing Princess Catherine with you. I pray for her full recovery soon so she can join you again.”

Another said: “Whoa! Looks like someone had fun. It’s a beautiful place and hope I wish Princess Catherine is with you. We miss her.”

The Princess of Wales appealed for her family to have time, space and privacy when she announced her diagnosis for an undisclosed form of cancer on March 22, and said she had begun chemotherapy.

Meanwhile, King Charles returned to public duties this week following the news of his cancer.

Around 8,000 people were in attendance for The Sovereign’s Garden Party on a sunny afternoon at Buckingham Palace.

Charles, wearing a grey suit and light blue waistcoat and tie, smiled at the gathered crowd as he entered the garden from the palace’s Carnarvon Room.

He emerged alongside Camilla who wore a white silk dress by Fiona Clare and a hat by Philip Treacy, as well as a heart-shaped diamond brooch that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
