Royal expert’s 3-word verdict on Prince Andrew’s future at Royal Lodge | Royal | News

While it was originally believed Andrew would never budge on this, and would instead insist on staying at The Crown Estate home he signed a 75-year lease for in 2003, it seems the tables have turned.

It is believed negotiations are now underway for Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to vacate the mansion and move to another abode.

This is despite the fact Andrew’s lease on the home does not run out until 2078 and he has adhered to its terms, such as paying maintenance for the upkeep.

It is believed Andrew originally paid £1 million for the lease and a further £7.5 million for refurbishments.

It is believed talks are ongoing about the matter, with one royal expert giving a very telling three-word verdict, saying its “when not if” Prince Andrew leaves his home of over two decades.

Taking to X on Friday, royal expert Phil Dampier wrote: “It’s increasingly looking like when not if Prince Andrew will leave Royal Lodge. Then it begins. Who will live there and where will he go?”

A statement is expected from Buckingham Palace within days.
