Royal aides warned Meghan Markle would 'cast herself as a victim' before dramatic Megxit

Meghan Markle brought a “fresh approach” to the Royal Family but also “cast herself as the victim”, according to Royal expert Valentine Low.

Meghan, 42, married Prince Harry in a grand wedding in Windsor in 2018. They lived in Windsor for a short time, performing Royal duties until they announced their departure.

In 2020, the couple revealed they were stepping down from their senior Royal roles and moved to America.

They now live in Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

During her time as a royal, Meghan was actively involved in royal engagements and various causes.

She supported a cookbook by the Grenfell community kitchen and worked with Smart Works, showing her commitment to supporting women and helping those in need across the UK.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Mr Low discussed the “fresh approach” that Meghan brought to the British Royal Family when she first joined.

He also mentioned how the former Suits actress was eager to discuss her desire to take on Commonwealth roles when their engagement was announced.

“She’d been well-briefed and was perfectly happy to spout her brief on air about what the future might be for her. She did some very interesting things,” he said.

Mr Low then spoke of Meghan’s “enthusiasm” when she embraced the Grenfell community kitchen and suggested they make a cookbook, with her having “brought a lot of energy and a fresh approach to the whole royal thing”.

He then said: “But I also know that for all the great potential she showed, if you talk to people on the inside they believe rightly or wrongly that she was constantly casting herself as a victim.”
