Fox will debut six new shows next season, including a game show hosted by a recuperating Jamie Foxx and an animated series starring Jon Hamm.
Foxx’s daughter and “Beat Shazam” cohost Corinne Foxx teased the announcement Friday on her Instagram Story while giving an update on her dad’s condition following an undisclosed medical ordeal. “My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” Corinne said on Instagram. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!”
Foxx and his daughter will host “We Are Family,” a game show in which hidden celebrities perform songs with their non-famous kin in front of an audience full of contestants who can win money for correctly identifying the stars.

The premiere dates and times for Fox’s fall schedule will be announced later, pending the longevity of a strike that threatens to cripple Hollywood. Like other networks announcing new schedules this month ahead of the “upfront” ad-sales season, Fox’s fall plans are contingent on a settlement in the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike (two other unions’ contracts expire June 30). If it persists, as many expect, traditional late September rollouts could be delayed.
Among two new dramas, Fox will premiere “Rescue: HI-Surf,” about lifeguards working in the North Shore of O’ahu, and “Doc,” inspired by an Italian series centered on a doctor who can’t remember the last eight years of her life due to a brain injury. “Krapopolis,” an animated series, introduces a family comprised of humans, gods and monsters that struggles to maintain one of the first cities in existence; “Grimsburg,” starring and executive produced by Hamm, follows a detective who rather tend to the problems in his personal life than his cases.
Fox says its entire Sunday block of animated series led by “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy,” which produces episodes well in advance, will air original episodes regardless of the strike.
The network further expands on its game-show assortment with “Snake Oil,” a series hosted by David Spade in which contestants are pitched businesses and must determine which companies are real and which are a fraud.
Fox also plans sophomore seasons of dramas “Accused” and “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” its Joel McHale-lead comedy “Animal Control,” and its reality shows “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” and “Farmer Wants a Wife.”
Other series returning include “Kitchen Nightmares,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Lego Masters” and “Lego Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular,” “9-1-1 Lone Star,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “The Cleaning Lady,” “The Great North,” “I Can See Your Voice,” “The Masked Singer,” “Name That Tune” and “Next Level Chef.”
Fox canceled “Call Me Kat,” “Fantasy Island” “Monarch,” “The Resident” and “9-1-1,” but ABC will pick up the rescue series starring Angela Bassett, owned by its sibling studio.
