Real reason Prince Harry dropped everything to fly to UK for just 45-min Charles meeting

The real reason a “panic-stricken” Prince Harry dropped everything to dash to the UK after hearing of his father’s cancer diagnosis has reportedly been revealed by royal sources.

The Duke of Sussex wasted little time in making the 5,000 miles from his home in California after being informed of the King’s health problems via a phone call with Charles himself. Sources say the cancer diagnosis was a wake-up call for Harry.

“Harry was rather panic-stricken when news about his dad,” a royal source said.

They also then explained why the Duke “wanted to head over to the UK as soon as possible”.

The source told OK! magazine: “He needed to know if what his dad had told him about his illness over the phone was true and both something that he had sugar-coated to not worry him.

“Once he was sure that the King was in the best hands, he calmed down a bit and realised that he had time to work things out.”

Royal sources report that the King’s meeting with his son at Clarence House in London lasted for 45 minutes – with the monarch leaving for Norfolk in a helicopter. Harry then headed back to Heathrow airport – just 25-hours after he landed in the UK – and returned to the US.

It’s understood he was reunited with wife Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, sources told OK! that emotions were running high when Harry and Meghan discussed their relationship with the royal family.

“Meghan doesn’t want anything to do with it and is keen to stay away from England,” the source told OK!. “But Harry is of the opinion that he must repair the damage that has been caused.”

“I think there have been plenty of emotional conversations and hearts-to-hearts over the best way to handle the situation and move forwards.”
