Ralf Little opens up on embarrassing moment that would make 'suicide the only option'

Ralf Little opened up on what he would regard as his most embarrassing moment during a candid, no-holds-barred humorous chat on his Two Pints Live show with Will Mellor. The Death in Paradise star, who recently announced his departure from the BBC show, began by asking the audience what they’d cringe about most – getting caught masturbating by their parents or catching their parents masturbating.

Ralf had an extreme reaction to the latter, telling the audience: “I don’t think I could survive seeing my parents masturbating.” He added to gasps of shock and peals of laughter: “I think suicide would be the only option!”

Asked to give a show of hands, most of the crowd at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall agreed with him that they’d rather be “the one getting caught”. Meanwhile, Ralf also playfully tried to embarrass his co-star Will Mellor, after he revealed during the show that he feared losing “credibility” by appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, after appearing in 2022 alongside pro partner Nancy Xu.

However, continuing the theme, Ralf mischievously hit back that he had appeared on “Masturbates” in reference to his starring role in Mr. Bates and The Post Office. Will exclusively spoke to Express.co.uk about landing the role earlier this year, admitting that he’d been at such a low point with his acting at the time that he was considering quitting.

“To be honest. Mr. Bates landed on my lap when I was sort of believing that I probably wasn’t going to get the big dramas anymore. I wasn’t going to be seen for them,” he revealed. “I was thinking, well, if they don’t want me anymore, that’s fine, but I’ll have to concentrate on other things because I’ve got to support my family and I’m self-employed and I have to make sure that I can get work.”

The day he planned to call his agent and discuss focusing on presenting and factual roles instead, he was offered the Mr. Bates script.

“It just shows you, you never know what tomorrow is going to bring – and sometimes when you stop chasing something, it just lands in your lap.”

Meanwhile, back on the Two Pints With Will and Ralf stage show, the jokes continued as Ralf zapped his pal and co-star with an electrical current.

It was laughs all around as he used the – totally harmless, but arguably uncomfortable – TENS machine to electrocute his friend with a low-intensity shock.

Will squirmed, spasmed, howled and begged him to stop, but the giggling actor confessed: “I enjoy it so much!”

“It’s tingling, man, snot’s coming out of my lungs – I’m not okay!” he joked, as he added that he was “traumatised”.

The pair’s jokes kept the audience laughing for almost two hours as they neared the end of a short tour which brought audiences back in time to the banter of their days acting together in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Meanwhile, Ralf will return to the stage for a show on a more serious note in London, when he chats about his life and career at the Omnibus Theatre on May 19.
