Queen Elizabeth 'adored' Prince Harry right to the end – even after his endless attacks

Queen Elizabeth II’s feelings towards her grandson Prince Harry have been up for debate in the last week as it’s claimed she became “angry” in a Lilibet naming row.

The late monarch is said to have felt “angry” when the prince and his wife Meghan Markle said the Queen had authorised the naming of their youngest child, Lilibet. It was a moniker deeply personal to Her Royal Highness, and one that orginated from her childhood years.

It was also a name her late husband Prince Philip had affectionately used. But she still “adored” Prince Harry until the very end, royal author Robert Hardman has claimed.

According to his new book Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, Mr Hardman claimed the Queen had reacted angrily to the then newborn’s name, released to the world in June 2021.

A source stated, according to the new book, that the late Queen was “as angry as I’d ever seen her” after learning that the couple claimed that they had got her permission to use the late monarch’s very-personal nickname.

With the latest claim, along with other attacks that Harry has posed on the Royal Family, one thing is said to have never been affected – the late monarch’s love for her grandson.

Speaking on the latest episode of A Right Royal Podcast, Mr Hardman said: “I mean, the Queen adored Harry, right to the end that you know, and Harry adored her, she met Lilibet and loved her great-granddaughter, that was not an issue.”

He went on to say: “What was at issue was the handling of the story that came after the naming of Lilibet.

“And it was the way in which the Sussexes put out a statement saying the Queen had been entirely supportive of the name, and it was being, largely, not just suggested, but stated that she had given this blessing.”

The announcement of Princess Lilibet’s name – as well as Meghan and Harry claiming that they had been granted her permission – was followed by announcement from the BBC.

The BBC stated that the late Queen had not given her blessing for the couple’s daughter to be granted the name of Lilibet.
