Queen Camilla gets new royal title after stepping up since King Charles’s cancer diagnosis

Queen Camilla is set to receive a new title after stepping up to extra royal duties since King Charles’s cancer diagnosis – which came just days after he underwent an operation for an enlarged prostate.

At an installation ceremony at Clarence House on February 13, Queen Camilla will become ‘honorary liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers’.

The Duchess of Gloucester, who is the wife of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin, the Duke of Gloucester, will also be present at the prestigious event.

Queen Camilla has long celebrated the history, culture, and craft of the fan as she became Patron of The Fan Museum in 2008.

The Fan Museum in Greenwich, London, opened to the public in 1991, located in a Grade II listed beautiful Georgian period townhouse. Last year, they held a topical exhibition, titled ‘Coronations and Celebrations’ hosting visitors from around the globe to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

On Febraury 13, Queen Camilla will meet representatives from the Fan Museum, and the Court of Fan Makers and take place in the installation ceremony.

She will also be presented with a fan designed by Mr Stewart Parvin M.V.O, which was commissioned in 2020 to mark the impact of COVID-19 on so many lives.

Queen Camilla, 76, recently stepped out for a musical engagement at Salisbury Cathedral to celebrate the work of local charities, such as The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.

Despite the difficult health news of her husband, Queen Camilla appeared in high spirits as she stepped out in a cream outfit.

Those who know Queen Camilla are confident she will step up to her duties while King Charles battles with his cancer diagnosis and undergoes treatment.

Queen Camilla has been previously described as the King’s “rock” by her sister, Annabel Elliot, who gave her view of their marriage for a BBC documentary titled ‘Charles III: The Coronation Year.’

Ms Elliot said: “She is his rock and I can’t actually emphasise that enough. She is somebody who is completely loyal, and she isn’t somebody who has huge highs and lows.”
