Vladimir Putin’s army was left reeling after a deadly strike by ATACMS missiles wiped out a Russian military base in occupied Ukraine.
The devastating attack was filmed by Ukrainian drones hovering near to the base in Rogovo, which is located in occupied Lugansk province.
Multiple explosions over a wide area of the Russian military test site can be seen in the video.
The lethal explosions send thick black and white plumes of smoke into the clear skies, sowing panic and chaos among Russian troops on the ground.
Ukraine has secured a new military aid package from the US, after Congress finally approved a $61billion deal last week.
The new deal will pave the way for the delivery of more long range ATACMS that can reach targets up to a distance of 300km away.
Previously Ukraine had received shorter-range versions (150km) of the lethal ballistic missiles.
The US had resisted supplying Kyiv with the 300km range version over fears of provoking an escalation of hostilities with Moscow.
However, a change of heart in Washington led to the first long-range ATACMS arriving in Ukraine in April as part of a previous arms deal.
The longer range ballistic missiles are believed to have been used in a recent attack on Russian targets in Crimea.
ATACMS can travel much faster than the British Storm Shadow missiles and are able to reach their targets within minutes of being launched.
They are better suited for use against time-sensitive targets like mobile, ground-based air and missile-defence systems, aircraft on the ground, logistical assets engaged in the loading and unloading of supplies, as well as artillery and missile launchers.
The attack comes as emergency services in Russia scrambled to put out a huge fire that spread through a village at terrifying speed.
The raging inferno consumed as many as seventeen houses as it burned uncontrollably for over an hour. The fire spread rapidly due to high winds.
It covered an area of almost 17,000 square metres in the Zaigraevsky district of the Buriyat Republic, in eastern Siberia.
The republic is home to many of Russia’s Buddhists, whose indigenous population is closely related to Mongols just across the border.
Images of the fire uploaded to social media channels show a massive conflagration burning seemingly out of control, with sparks flying everywhere.
