Princess Kate's privacy is paramount as aides seek to end nasty rumours about her health

Many seemed to be unconvinced by the simple fact that Kate is recovering from surgery within the safe confines of her own home.

With speculation reaching a fever pitch this week over Kate’s so-called “disappearance” aides released another statement in an attempt to put an end to the discussions.

A royal spokesperson said: “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance stands.”

The message is clear: Kate’s recovery and privacy is paramount and they will not be drawn on any further information about her health.

The princess is not expected to return to royal duties until after Easter, and in the meantime aides are determined to give her the space and time to recover away from the spotlight.
