Princess Kate may “never put out a picture” of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis following the latest royal drama involving the edited Mother’s Day picture released by Kensington Palace.
The Princess of Wales has been in hot water since last Sunday after agencies “killed” the now infamous picture over fears it had been “digitally altered”.
Now a royal commentator suggested that the royals will have to review the picture-posting process following the fiasco.
Russell Myers, Daily Mirror Royal Editor told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: “They put the picture out and I suppose they will have to have a review of this process.
“What I think is going to be the biggest shame of all, is Kate may never put a picture out again. And we’ve had years of her putting out pictures of the children on their birthday, Louis’ first day at school, their Christmas card.
“If she doesn’t do that, that’s such a massive shame for her.”
Elsewhere, the Times’ assistant editor Kate Mansey shared some more details about the photo and claimed the Wales comms team responded very quickly compared to ‘Palace standards’.
She revealed: “I was told the image was circulated around the team on the Saturday. [It was] taken on the Friday, edited by the Princess of Wales Friday night, Saturday morning and then distributed to the team on Saturday.
“It wasn’t immediately clear that there were these problems with the image… I don’t think anybody spotted it.
“I think with the benefit of hindsight [the comms team] would have paid it a bit more attention.
“[The team] did act very quickly. The kill notices started dropping Sunday evening, it was the following morning we had that personal statement from Catherine on her social media account, which in terms of Palace timescale is lightning speed. They never act that quickly.”
