Princess Kate sends heartbreaking message as Sydney stabbings leave six dead

Princess Kate and Prince William have shared a heartfelt message in response to the horrifying attack at a Sydney shopping centre.

The Prince and Princess of Wales expressed their profound sadness following the shocking stabbing attack at Westfield shopping centre in Bondi Junction.

The Royal pair took to their official social media accounts on Saturday afternoon to react to the appalling events where a man armed with a knife caused the death of six people and left several others, including a baby, seriously injured.

The assailant was fatally shot by a police officer after he was chased into the mall and failed to comply with orders to drop his weapon. Following the incident, New South Wales Police declared a critical situation, leading to the closure of the shopping centre.

The tragic news has sparked a wave of sympathy, with William and Kate extending their condolences through a touching statement.

They recognised the severity of the situation and paid tribute to the courage of the first responders in their note, which is particularly noteworthy as it’s Kate’s first public comment since her cancer diagnosis was announced last month.

The Royal couple expressed their distress over the recent tragedy in Sydney, posting on their Kensington Royal social media account: “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events in Sydney earlier today.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected, including the loved ones of those lost and the heroic emergency responders who risked their own lives to save others. W and C.”
