Princess Kate 'ready to take the lead' in Royal Family after farm shop visit, expert says

Princess Kate seemed to be “keen to take the lead” and “in good health” as she walked with Prince William outside the Windsor Farm Shop close to their home at Adelaide Cottage.

Following months of speculation as to the state of Kate’s health, body language expert Judi James told The Mirror that the Princess walked “confidently” as she prepares to make her return to royal life.

Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January and while Kensington Palace said that her condition was not cancer-related, she had requested privacy and would not be back at work until after Easter.

She has not undertaken any public-facing duties so far this year, but on Saturday she looked cheerful as she was filmed walking out of the shop dressed down in a jumper and leggings while William wore a baseball cap.

Ms James analysed the images, saying: “This is no frail ‘first steps outside’ kind of body language, Kate looks happy and confident here and keen to take the lead and to be noticed.

“While William does seem to be yearning for privacy here, with his cap brim pulled over his face and his head down, Kate walks in a way to attract attention, stepping ahead of her husband and wearing a wide, beaming smile as she walks.

“Her hair streams behind her and her walk itself, thankfully and reassuringly, shows no signs of anything but energy and good health.”

According to The Sun the couple also spent Sunday together watching their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis play sport.

Nelson Silva, who saw the couple outside the farm shop, told TMZ: “I noticed a couple choosing loaves of bread and the woman turned her face and I felt like I had seen the face before.

“It was familiar. I went to my car and as they came out of the shop I just filmed them. I think they walked out through a gate out of the grounds.

“They just vanished and I didn’t see a car. Kate looked happy and relaxed. They look happy just to be able to go to a shop and mingle. Kate looked relieved, like it was a success going to a shop. It felt natural.”

Mr Silva also addressed the conspiracy theories surrounding Kate’s whereabouts, as she has kept herself to herself as she recovers from her surgery.

He said: “I’m not in that mindset and all of that was nonsense. I didn’t feel like they were hiding who they were.

“But they didn’t quite know how people would react because there has been this build-up about their whereabouts and I got the sense they just wanted to be swift in there.”
