Royal sources said the Princess of Wales made “minor adjustments” and that Kate and the Prince of Wales wanted to offer an informal picture of the family together for Mother’s Day.
“The Wales family spent Mother’s Day together and had a wonderful day,” the source added.
Meanwhile, royal fans were quick to spot several “editing faults”, including Kate’s blurry left hand and Charlotte’s missing sleeve.

The young princess’s sleeve and hand appear to have been digitally manipulated as the photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of her left hand.
Prince George’s hand
The second in line to the throne’s hand appears to be blurry while social media users also commented on his forearm length.
Princess Charlotte’s skirt
Social media fans pointed out the corner of Charlotte’s skirt as another “editing error” after it appeared to have been digitally altered.
Princess Kate’s zip
The Princess of Wales’s zip also appeared to be misaligned in the photo as the top of it is further left and appears significantly brighter than the rest of her top.
Princess Charlotte’s hair
Princess Charlotte’s hair appeared to be stopping abruptly on her shoulder, on her right side, which is where Kate is positioned, despite the left side of her hair being longer.
Princess Kate’s hand
Princess Kate’s hand on the left side, where Louis is positioned, seemed to be unnaturally blurred compared with the prince who appeared very detailed in the photo.
Prince Louis’s hand
The youngest Wales’s right hand seems to have been manipulated as the thumb appearing against his trousers looks blurry.
Princess Charlotte’s knee
Social media users noticed the young princess’s knee appears to be blurry towards its edge.
Princess Charlotte’s boot
Princess Charlotte’s boot appears to have been digitally altered too as the heel on her right foot seems higher than the one on her left.
