Princess Kate left 'feeling sick' at' Trooping the Colour due to her lesser-known illness

The Princess of Wales was reportedly “feeling sick” during a rather “uncomfortable” carriage ride in 2019.

On June 8, 2019, Princess Kate joined the now-Queen Camilla, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a royal carriage on the way to the annual Trooping The Colour event.

The royal, who is known for her highly professional approach to duty, was spotted looking a little out of sorts as she rode along in the carriage.

Although she was seen waving at crowds and smiling as the carriage rode along The Mall, Princess Kate was reportedly “feeling sick” during the less-than-smooth ride.

The mother-of-three is used to riding along in a carriage but this day proved to be a little too “uncomfortable”.

The Mirror previously revealed that it was due to swaying motion that Kate appeared a little off-colour at times.

After many pointed out Kate’s appearance at the event, a source at the time said: “The truth is the Duchess of Cambridge gets very seasick and doesn’t enjoy the rocking motion of carriages.

“Worrying about being ill on such an important occasion as Trooping The Colour added to her stress.”

Like Princess Kate, the late Queen is also known to have suffered from seasickness – despite sailing on the Royal Yacht Britannia for 45 years. The late Queen is said to have recommended some pills that she once took for seasickness to Princess Kate.

The Princess of Wales is currently resting up back at home in Windsor after a 13-day stay in hospital at The London Clinic. The 42-year-old underwent planned abdominal surgery on January 16, and was discharged from hospital yesterday – January 29.

Kate will likely attend this year’s Trooping The Colour in June, but is currently not expected to return to duties until “after Easter”.
