Princess Kate hints significant royal changes incoming with this simple item

HELLO magazine explained: “The King will issue his own Royal Family Order in future, which will replace the one worn by Queen Camilla and Princess Kate, and the shorter ribbon displayed is a reminder of that coming change.”

Royal Editor Emily Nash said: “I would expect to see them wearing the King’s portrait this time next year.”

Princess Margaret would often put three Royal Family Orders on display; those issued by King George V, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, before her passing in 2002.

It is expected that Princess Kate will do the same with those of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III and her husband, Prince William, once he becomes King.

She was also the first royal to wear an order made of glass as opposed to the typical ivory, as Prince William has shown commitment to ending the ivory trade.

On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales visited the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, of which she is a patron, to officially open the brand-new day surgery unit.
