Princess Kate goes without wedding rings and picks re-worn boots for picture post surgery

The Princess of Wales opted for a relaxed, low-key look, as she posed for a snap cuddled up to her children on Mother’s Day.

A busy mum will know there are certain jobs that require wedding rings to be put to one side, and a pair of comfy jeans thrown on.

Princess Kate showed off her down-to-earth parenting style and chose not wear her wedding rings in the photo and went without jewellery all together for her first picture post-surgery.

For the snap, Kate wore her £250 Chloe Combat boots which she has worn several times before, as she is a fan of recycled fashion.

Clinching Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte’s waists, all the royal children were smiling and laughing, and Kate’s eldest, Prince George, had his arms sweetly wrapped around his mum.

Princess Charlotte wore a beautiful red cotton and cashmere cardigan with a plaid skirt and cotton tights while Prince Louis put on a green lambswool jumper and blue jeans.

Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte both wore jumpers from French brand Cyrillus Official.

With her brown locks long and flowing, Princess Kate beamed as she sat with her three children at home in Windsor. She opted for a natural make-up look with a light foundation and subtle lip gloss.

Alongside the shared picture she wrote: “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.

“Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C”

Princess Kate’s engagement ring previously belonged to the late Princess Diana.

The ring features an oval 12-carat Ceylon sapphire surrounded by a cluster of 14 solitaire diamonds set in white gold.

Describing the ring, Prince William previously stated: “It’s my mother’s engagement ring, and it’s very special to me, as Kate is very special to me now as well. It was only right the two were put together.”

The mother-of-three has stepped back from royal duties since she was admitted to The London Clinic for planned abdominal surgery on January 16.

Kate’s absence from royal engagements since the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham has led to huge speculation on social media – but the positive Mother’s Day update has been warmly welcomed by royal fans.

According to Kensington Palace, it is thought she will return to public duties after Easter.
