Princess Kate feared George, Charlotte and Louis would boycott pancakes after disaster

Kate, the Princess of Wales previously joked that she thought her three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five – would boycott pancakes after Shrove Tuesday disaster.

Last February, on Shrove Tuesday, Princess Kate visited the Oxford House nursing home in Slough where she took part in a pancake-making challenge.

However, despite her attempts, the senior royal ended up in a fit of laughter after she struggled to flip the pancake.

Aware that fellow attendees, including a number of residents and staff, Princess Kate claimed that she wished there was “music going on” as they watched her attempts.

Speaking of her children, Kate added: “Maybe the children won’t want to do pancakes… ‘Mummy we’ve seen you do it – no way’.”

After her attempts, Princess Kate eventually managed to flip over the pancake but jokingly warned anyone from eating any. She said: “Definitely don’t eat that pancake. All of the ones made earlier are much nicer.”

Turning to one of the chefs, Kate said: “Sorry, I really haven’t done you justice”, whilst labelling her one as a “congealed blob”.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are all currently spending their February half-term at their Anmer Hall country retreat in Norfolk.

Despite continuing her recovery from planned abdominal surgery last month, Princess Kate is said to have joined her family in Norfolk.

According to a statement released on January 17, the senior royal won’t be returning to duties until “after Easter” at the earliest.
