Royal Family fans have all been sharing their joy at seeing Princess Kate out and about, almost two months after she underwent a major operation on her abdomen.
In pictures obtained by US gossip site TMZ, Kate was seen in the passenger seat of a 4X4 Audi which her mother Carole Middleton was driving close to Windsor Castle just before 9am, with many assuming they were taking Kate’s children to school.
It is the first time Kate has been spotted since Christmas Day last year when she accompanied the rest of the royals on their trip to church at Sandringham.
One fan on X expressed their happiness at seeing her, saying: “What a treat to see her.” Meanwhile another added: “With her lovely mum as well.”
A third account wrote: “Wonderful to see her out and about getting some fresh air. Hope she takes it easy. Her health comes first and foremost.”
The pictures have not been available to publish in the UK after Kensington Palace requested that the Princess was given privacy to recover adequately.
On January 17 the Palace announced that Kate had been admitted to hospital for a planned operation the previous day, and while they did not specify the exact nature of her condition they said it had been successful.
Kate was discharged after nearly two weeks at the London Clinic in Marylebone and has since been convalescing at home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
The Palace assured royal watchers that Kate would be out of action until Easter at the earliest, following medical advice, however speculation has mounted as to her whereabouts.
Last week an updated statement was released saying she was still doing well, adding: “We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant.”
One person who does claim to know where she has been resting is her uncle Gary Goldsmith, who was quizzed by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best when he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last night.
Mr Goldsmith told the hosts when asked if she would be watching: “If she is sitting behind a sofa, yes! It’ll be a nice one in a nice house somewhere, I can guarantee that!”
The businessman has previously said the Princess is “the most spectacular person I’ve ever met” and has promised not to say anything damaging about her in the house.
He told The Sun: “She [Kate] is beautiful on the outside, but more beautiful on the inside and really is a doting mum – so the way the monarchy is moving, it’s family-centric.
“That’s why I got so upset with Harry and Meghan because you don’t put a stick into that spoke and reinvent history.”
