Princess Kate could heal rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after hospital visit

Princess Kate‘s abdominal surgery and recovery could help build bridges between the Waleses, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, a source has claimed. The Princess of Wales has now left hospital, returning home to Windsor almost two weeks after undergoing a major operation.

The future queen spent 14 days recovering at The London Clinic and is not expected to return to royal duties until Easter, if she is well enough. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly reached out to Kate while she was dealing with her health scare.

A school friend of Prince William and Prince Harry has suggested the move may signal the start of a reconciliation between the couples, who have become estranged after a series of allegations aimed at the Royal Family by the Sussexes.

The pal told the Daily Beast: “Health problems do tend to put everything else in perspective. If Harry and Meghan have made an effort to reach out to Kate to offer their best wishes, Kate will reciprocate.”

They added William would quite happily never speak to Harry and Meghan again, but Kate is a “peacemaker” at heart who would definitely be open to using the situation to build bridges.

Among the allegations levelled against the Windsors, Harry accused his brother of physically attacking him in a row over Meghan, while Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame, revived Sussex claims about royal racists who they said had asked what Prince Archie’s skin colour might be. The Daily Express is not naming the two royals, who are named in Scobie’s work.

The friend, who Daily Beast reports hasn’t spoken to Harry since he moved to the United States, said you have to remember Kate and Harry used to be exceptionally close.

They said: “He adored her, and she provided a sense of stability after the chaos of his youth. I actually can’t imagine a world in which he wouldn’t have sent her a note, despite everything.

“Everyone in the family has, frankly, had enough of the whole feud narrative. It’s way past time the whole thing was put to bed.

“Trust has been damaged and I don’t think they are ever going to be calling each other for a heart-to-heart like the old days, but it’s time to move on.”

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said on Monday (January 29) that the Princess of Wales is making good progress.

Kate left The London Clinic earlier and it is understood her return to official duties will depend on medical advice.

Once the princess’s care and recovery has settled, the Prince of Wales plans to resume his public engagements.

The exact details of the princess’s condition have not been revealed, but the Palace said previously it was not cancer-related and Kate wanted her personal medical information to be kept private.

News of the princess’s surgery was announced by Kensington Palace on January 17, with Buckingham Palace triggering a double royal health scare 90 minutes later when it revealed King Charles was to be treated in hospital for an enlarged prostate.
