Princess Kate and Queen Camilla's sweet gift from Ukraine as fans say the same thing

Ukraine has gifted Princess Kate and Queen Camilla top hats designed by a prestigious designer in what fans have dubbed a “sweet move”.

The UK embassy based in Kyiv, Ukraine, received the gifts on behalf of the royals, thanking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Designed by designer Ruslan Baginskiy, the top hats follow Kate and Camilla’s style, with the Queen’s beret being decorated with handcrafted violet flowers in silk.

The designer said: “Violets, one of ‘Pervotsvit’ flowers in Ukrainian spring – symbolic of life and hope.”

Meanwhile, Kate’s green boater hat was decorated with handcrafted white forsythia flowers in silk. Mr Baginskiy said: “The boater hat is a traditional shape that makes part of the silhouette drawn by folk Ukrainian clothing.”

Fans were quick to comment on the kind gesture, with one writing: “How wonderful and thoughtful!”

Another said: “Those are absolutely beautiful.” A third wrote: “What a lovely gesture!” While a fourth added: “How kind.”

Ruslan Baginskiy – a Ukrainian headwear and accessory designer – founded his brand in 2015. The brand is stocked in Harrods, with prices retailing from £220 to £490.

Mr Baginskiy, 34, has made custom designs for a number of celebrities in the past, including Beyonce and Florence Welch.
