Princess Kate and Prince William released a new video this morning, just hours after it was confirmed that the princess would host her annual Christmas carol service.
The Princess of Wales, 42, will be hosting her Together At Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on December 6 after a difficult year following her cancer diagnosis.
The princess finished her chemotherapy at the end of the summer and has been working towards a gradual return to work, with a meeting having originally been held about the carol service as part of this.
In a statement earlier today confirming the news, Kensington Palace said: “This year’s service provides a moment to reflect upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives.
“The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities.”
The Palace added: “This year, Her Royal Highness wanted to celebrate the many people supporting those in need – individuals who have inspired, counselled, comforted, and above all else shown that love is the greatest gift we can receive.”
In the new video shared by the Prince William and Princess Kate on their official social media channels on Wednesday morning, the invitations for the concert can be seen being produced with the princess’ royal cypher.
The couple wrote: “Something exciting is coming…
“The invitations are fresh off the press for this year’s Together At Christmas Carol Service, which will be returning to Westminster Abbey on Friday 6 December. We can’t wait for you to join us too! Tune in on ITV and ITVX on Christmas Eve.”
The future Queen has hosted the Christmas concerts since she first launched the event in 2021 after the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is attended by members of the Royal Family, as well as members of her own family including her parents Michael and Carole Middleton.
Last year, the princess wowed royal fans as she wore white suit trousers with a white t-shirt, accompanied with a stylish white coat and handbag.
Her three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, all accompanied the princess at the event, along with their dad Prince William.
The news that she is feeling well enough to host the carol service comes after she attended two Remembrance Day events over the weekend alongside other senior royals.
