Prince William shows his true colours as he returns to royal duties today

The Prince of Wales is now the monarchy’s most prominent public figure as he returns to public duties, and eagle-eyed royal fans are praising his work ethic.

Prince William arrived in Windsor Castle on February 7, where he presented honours to more than 50 recipients at an investiture.

On social media, one royal enthusiast commented on today’s duties: “Prince William, every inch our future King.”

Another royal watcher commented Prince William had a “keep calm and carry on” attitude at the ceremony.

He had taken three weeks off to fully support his family including children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as his wife recovered from her planned abdominal surgery at their home in Windsor.

During the ceremony today, the heir to the throne accidentally dropped a medal on the floor before swooping it back up and handing over the gong to a recipient who had been recognised for services to children with congenital disease.

Commenting on additional images of Prince William’s royal engagement at Windsor X user, @PortiaDM12 wrote: “Love the respect being shown to the future King in these images.”

Since King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, Prince William has also received praise from his American fans. User @bornpeachy said: “We love Prince William over here across the pong. He’s our most popular public figure.”

William also presented an MBE to an ex-England footballer, Ellen Convery who sent her “best wishes” to the King when speaking to the Prince of Wales.

The heir to the throne will attend a gala fundraising dinner for London’s Air Ambulance charity tonight.

This evening, William will deliver a speech at London Air Ambulance’s annual fundraising gala, where he is expected to talk about King Charles’s cancer diagnosis briefly for the first time.

It comes as his father, King Charles has safely arrived in Sandringham where he is expected to stay as he undergoes cancer treatment.

The monarch was pictured yesterday afternoon leaving Clarence House in London after meeting with his youngest son Prince Harry, before catching a helicopter to Norfolk.
