Prince William took a train to Liverpool on Thursday for a series of royal engagements, where he gave a new insight into the lives of his three children.
While meeting local primary school children outside the Tiber Football Centre in Toxteth, the prince revealed one conversation he has with his own children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, after school each day.
His three children currently attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, just a short drive away from the family’s Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate. It is believed William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, do the school run most days.
Prince William told school children he met on Thursday that he asks his own children if they have had a good day at school everyday and what they have learnt.
The future King then revealed that all three of them have a response similar to thousands of others across the globe, as they simply just say “nothing”.
The rare insight is one of very few made by Prince William when it comes to his children’s school life, as the prince and princess try to give George, Charlotte and Louis as ordinary an upbringing as possible.
This was part of the reason behind the family’s move to Windsor in 2022, when they decided to switch the walls of Kensington Palace for a humble cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The move meant the family no longer had any live-in staff, with their children also able to enjoy more privacy outside the home.
The family are also now closer to the home of Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton, who are very active grandparents in the children’s lives.
