Prince William appeared to make a subtle dig at his estranged brother, Prince Harry, about “knowing where the line is” during his latest TV appearance. The Prince of Wales featured In the latest episode of Eugene Levy’s AppleTV+ series, The Reluctant Traveler.
In one part of the episode, the heir to the throne spoke about his feelings towards the media and the interest in his and his family’s lives. He said: “I enjoy my job, but there are some aspects of it, such as the media, the speculation and the scrutiny that make it a little harder than other jobs.”
William said that the media’s interest in his parents’ marriage, King Charles and Princess Diana, taught him a lesson. He added that “if you let that creep in, the damage it can do to your family life is something that I vowed I would never let happen to my family.”
And he appeared to make a dig about the Duke of Sussex, who has given many explosive interviews to the media, saying: “I take a very strong line about where I think that line is, and those who overstep it, I’ll fight against.
“But equally, I understand, in my role, there is interest; you have to work with the media. So, you have to have a grown-up sort of situation with it as well. It’s about knowing where the line is and what you’re willing to put up with.”
Prince Harry has given unprecedented insight into his life within the Royal Family since his sensational exit five years ago alongside his wife, Meghan Markle.
The couple gave a series of interviews, including their infamous Oprah Winfrey one in 2021, during which they dropped several claims against the Firm.
Harry also released his explosive memoir, Spare, in 2023, detailing his life from his early years to the life he has now in California.
Back in May, the Duke told the BBC that he knows that “some members of my family will never forgive me” for writing his memoir and added: “It would be nice to have that reconciliation part now.
“If they don’t want that, that’s entirely up to them.”
