Prince William is reportedly “done” with his estranged brother Prince Harry, according to a source close to the future King.
While the Prince of Wales, 42, is believed to have not been on speaking terms with Harry, 40, since the release of his memoir Spare in 2023, it is believed Harry’s BBC interview last week has stamped on any hopes of reconciliation. This is despite the fact the brothers were once close before Harry quit royal life with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020. Speaking to US Weekly, a source close to William said: “William doesn’t talk about Harry anymore. Everyone knows it’s a subject that they shouldn’t bring up, so he hasn’t brought up the interview and won’t.”
The insider, who claimed William is “done” with his younger brother, also said: “When he (William) becomes king, everybody thinks the divide will become even wider.”
This insight comes just a week after Harry said he would love to reconcile with his family.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, made this admission after claiming his father King Charles, 76, “won’t speak” to him. The duke also went on to say that he does not think certain family members will forgive him for his memoir.
Talking to the BBC last Friday – the same day he lost his court appeal over his UK security rights – Harry said: “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.”
He continued: “Of course some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book, of course they will never forgive me for lots of things, but I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”
Prince Harry also said that he feels “sad” that his children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three, are missing out on “everything” in the UK, with the Duke of Sussex saying it is unsafe to bring them to his homeland with his current security rights.
Prince William has not publicly commented on his brother’s bombshell interview, which took place on the same day as Princess Charlotte’s 10th birthday.
