Prince William 'battling' inner pressure and worry as he misses 'company' of Kate

Prince William was at last night’s BAFTA Film Awards and while he looked the part, and it looked like he was having a great time, it appears he was putting on a brave face, says a body language expert.

William has been President of the BAFTAs since 2010, and it wasn’t clear if he was going to attend the awards ceremony this weekend, because his wife, Princess Kate, is recovering from major surgery.

In fact, he did make it out for the night, donning a navy blue velvet tuxedo and a huge smile to boot, but even so, it was probably difficult for him, having to leave his wife behind, knowing she’d be okay, but even so.

Daily Express US asked body language expert Judi James about how it went, with James saying, “William was clearly keen to signal that it was ‘business as usual’ at the BAFTAs but there were some clear body language cues that suggested he was missing the company, of his glamorous wife and also still coping with some inner anxiety about his father.”

James picked up on the laughing and smiling, which came across to her as “overkill” that he was trying to mask his “inner feelings of worry or pressure.”

It’s not just his wife he is worried about, his father, King Charles, was recently diagnosed with cancer and it’s being said, William is still processing the information.

It probably took a lot for William to leave the house yesterday, knowing his wife would not be joining him. But, we have a feeling, Kate gave him her blessing, and may have even urged him to go, to take break and get out the house. And, for that matter, he could the report back to her about his adventures like chatting with actress Cate Blanchett.

And while out for the evening, William did speak of Kate, saying he hadn’t seen the BAFTA-nominated movie Barbie because he’s had other things on his mind.

It’s completely understandable he hasn’t watched all of the BAFTA-nominated movies, now that William’s mentioned it, everyone is going to be asking: When is William going to watch Barbie?
