The Prince and Princess of Wales may have reportedly reached a decision on Prince George’s next school; however, they still have some time to decide on their middle child, Princess Charlotte. Reports claimed Prince George will enrol at Eton College, Prince William’s former school, in Berkshire, next year, but it’s still unclear where Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will go when the time comes.
All three of the Wales children are currently attending Lambrook School. But that will soon change, as George will turn 12 next month. This means the next academic year will be his last one at Lambrook, which caters to pupils aged between three and 13.
However, even though William and Kate have not officially announced George’s next academic steps, royal watchers have been speculating on where they will decide to send their younger children next.
The top two options are said to be Marlborough College in Wiltshire, Princess Kate’s former school and St Mary’s in Ascot.
St Mary’s is an independent day and boarding girls’ school and a member of the Girls’ Schools Association.
It is said to only take a small number of students each year and is where Lady Louise completed her A-Levels.
Other royals who attended the prestigious school were Lady Louise Windsor and Princess Margaret’s granddaughter, Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones.
The school charges £15,000 per term for day boarding, which costs £45,000 per year and £21,060 per term for full boarding, which is £63,180 annually.
Meanwhile, Kate’s alma mater in Wiltshire is regarded as one of the best co-educational independent schools in the country.
The Princess of Wales attended Marlborough College in the 1990s, and its alumni include Kate’s siblings, Pippa and James Middleton, Princess Eugenie, Samantha Cameron and comedian Jack Whitehall.
The prestigious school houses 13 hard tennis courts and 12 all-weather tennis courts, multiple football and lacrosse courts, and high-quality school rugby facilities.
It houses over 1,000 pupils from age 13-18 from both the UK and overseas and in 2024, it was included in The Schools Index as one of the 150 best private schools in the world and among the top 30 senior schools in the UK.
The annual fee for boarding pupils for 2024/2025 was £50,985 per year.
