It is believed the request was made for security reasons.
A source told the paper: “Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they’re not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there.”
It has been reported that the families who moved were in properties rented out by the Crown Estate.
The families were not evicted and instead were believed to have been asked to move to other Crown Estate properties further away from Forest Lodge.
These new properties are believed to be similar or better housing within Windsor Great Park.
It is not known exactly when William and Kate, along with their children, will move into the mansion, with minor renovations currently underway.
However, it is believed the move will take place before the end of the year.
Since 2022, the family have lived in the humble Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, just a short drive away from their new soon-to-be home.
