Prince Louis to return to the spotlight in days as insiders confirm next appearance | Royal | News

Fans of Prince Louis will be excited to learn the young royal will be attending Trooping the Colour 2025 on June 14, according to insiders. The sovereign’s birthday parade is one of the most-loved royal events of the year. The day will be topped off with a balcony appearance by the royals and a stunning flypast by the RAF to mark the King’s official birthday.

The ceremony involves hundreds of horses and soldiers carrying out complex battlefield drill manoeuvres to military music. More than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together for the impressive display. Trooping the Colour is usually one of the rare public appearances made by young royals Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The Mirror reports royal sources have confirmed other members of the Royal Family are expected to attend in line with last year, where only working members of the family were present. However, it has not been confirmed as yet by Buckingham Palace which royals will appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast.

At the last Trooping the Colour, the balcony was limited to working royals only, as over the years, King Charles has tried to slim down working members of the Royal Family. This means we are not expected to see the King’s younger disgraced brother Prince Andrew, nor his estranged son Prince Harry and his family.

Last year, however, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh and Lady Louise Windsor all made an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

While the event is steeped in military precision and royal tradition, it’s often Prince Louis’ cute and charming behavior that captures much of the public’s attention.

Throughout public appearances in previous years, a young Louis often pointed at planes and chatted animatedly with his siblings, occasionally breaking into impromptu dance-like moves. Unlike the carefully composed poise of older royals, his youthful spontaneity captures the hearts of fans.

At last year’s Trooping the Colour, King Charles opted to ride in the royal carriage with his wife, a choice that was made to make the King more comfortable amid his cancer treatment.

This year, has been reported that the King will once again join Queen Camilla in a carriage for the procession up the Mall.

Although Charles may be opting to ride in the carriage, Prince William, as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, is expected to join Princess Anne and Prince Edward on horseback for a second year.
