Prince Harry surprised royal fans as he made comments on what it is like for a father and son to compete against one another.
In his new Netflix documentary Polo, the Duke of Sussex – who played polo alongside and against his father King Charles when he was a senior royal – could be heard talking to Argentine professional polo player Adolfo Cambiaso about how it feels to compete against your own child.
The chat was shown in the fifth and final episode of the series, which featured executive producers Prince Harry and Meghan Markle very briefly.
When talking to Cambiaso, who has competed against his 18-year-old son Poroto before, the duke could be heard saying: “You’ve created something special.”
According to The Independent, Cambiaso said: “We play together a lot, you know. You can play with your kid, something that you love.”
The lack of invitation comes despite the fact Harry is on talking terms with the King, 76, with the pair having last met in February following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.
It is believed their relationship has been turbulent at times over the last few years after Harry quit life as a senior royal in 2020 and moved across the pond. The duke then went on to reveal Royal Family personal moments in his 2023 memoir Spare and the Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, released in 2022.
This was believed to have caused problems between Harry and his dad, as well as Harry and his brother Prince William, who he is no longer on talking terms with. It is not known when the prince is next expected to see to the King, however it is likely they will talk on the phone over the festive season.
