Prince Harry’s reconciliation chances torn apart after ‘irreparable harm’ caused | Royal | News

Prince Harry was accused of causing “irreparable harm nationally” with his claims about the Royal Family by a royal commentator who claimed any reconciliation between the duke and his father, King Charles, seems increasingly unlikely. The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from the Firm ever since his sensational exit with wife Meghan Markle in 2020.

However, the Sussexes’ ongoing dispute with the royals appears to have worsened recently, after the duke lost a Court of Appeal challenge over his security arrangements while in the UK and appeared in a bombshell interview for the BBC. Harry told the broadcaster that his father will not speak to him and he does not know how much longer the King has left. He appeared emotional and close to tears during much of the sit-down chat and described his court defeat as a “good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up” while also expressing hopes of a reconciliation with his family.

Now a royal commentator said Harry’s claims and behaviour are a major factor in his father distancing himself from him.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: “King Charles sees his wayward son’s approach to detailing private family disputes in interviews, books, and on television as in direct violation of not just royal norms but undignified and contrary to all basic decency.”

She blasted the prince, saying that he is “oblivious” to the fact that his “privileged upbringing was a blessing compared with most”.

Ms Fordwich said: “His behaviour is causing irreparable harm nationally, as he was once much loved and second in popularity only to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. He doesn’t serve his country, he only serves himself. That is abhorrent to all the British and British values.”

In his bombshell interview, Harry said that the King “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff”, but that he did not want to fight any more and did “not know how much longer my father has”.

But he added: “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family”.

“Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things but there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”

Following Harry’s interview, Buckingham Palace in a blunt statement: “All these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion on each occasion.”
