Prince Harry warned he can't afford faling into Netflix trap if he wants to fix royal rift

Prince Harry was warned that speaking about the royals in his new Netflix show could jeopardise his chances of mending his ongoing rift with the Firm.

The Duke of Sussex is currently working on a new series for the streaming giant which will “provide viewers unprecedented access to the world of professional polo”.

Harry is likely going to speak about his own experiences of the sport – often associated with people from privileged backgrounds.

The royal has been an avid polo player, from his younger years to the present, as he’s participated in several fundraising polo matches.

Now a royal commentator has cautioned Harry to avoid talking about the Royal Family in the new show.

The Sun’s Royal Editor told The Royal Beat – available on True Royalty TV: “They will have to be very, very careful that Netflix doesn’t demand – for greater clicks, for greater views – that he starts talking about the Royal Family.

“He’s got to avoid doing that and he’s said they’re going to stop. This polo show will talk about the royal traditions with polo and stuff like that. But he’s going to have to avoid talking about his family.”

Elsewhere, royal commentator Pandora Forsyth added: “If he wants to be the man of the people, I’m not quite sure this is the route to go down.

“However I think, it’s not going to be a documentary which is going to be discussing royal secrets and behind palace walls, and it is something he genuinely enjoys.

“I think I think that’s great, but I do think it will show off his privilege.

The new show, which has not been named yet, was shot at the US Open Polo Championship.

It will will feature Miloš Balać as showrunner and Meghan Markle, her husband Prince Harry, Psynik, Ian Samplin and Boardwalk Pictures’ Andrew Fried, Sarina Roma, and Dane Lillegard as executive producers, according to Variety.

A statement read: “Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level.”
