Prince Harry 'thought he could have it all' but 'reality is now sinking in'

Prince Harry has been warned there is “no relationship to salvage” with the Royal Family following almost three years of attacks and accusations made by him and wife, Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been highly vocal about their time as senior royals since stepping down in January 2020.

They have negatively discussed the royals in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, in Harry’s memoir Spare and in a six-part docuseries on Netflix.

Now writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue has claimed “reality is setting in” for Harry after he has “eroded” relationships with his family.

She told Sky News Australia: “Prince Harry has effectively eroded any sort of possibility of any meaningful relationship with his family and I think that’s a reality that’s really starting to sink in.

“I really don’t understand on what planet he thinks his behaviour over the last few years would be conducive to any sort of relationship with his family.

“Most people think that if they had a family member that behaved in the way that Meghan and Harry have, there’s no relationship there to salvage and I really think he’s deluded himself into believing he can have it all.”

It comes as the royal couple have been warned they could be “on the out for decades” from the Royal Family after making damaging claims in a whirlwind of interviews.

The Duke’s controversial memoir includes claims that the Prince of Wales physically attacked him and teased him about his panic attacks, and that the King put his own interests above Harry’s and was jealous of the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales.

Royal author Christopher Andersen has since claimed the Royal Family may “close ranks” against the Sussexes.

Speaking to Us Weekly’s Royally Us, he said: “The Royal Family are perfectly capable as we know from the story of Wallis Simpson, when the Royal Family close ranks you can be on the outs for decades.

“It’s not as if Meghan and Harry don’t have a life of their own now.

“Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Windsor who were king of exiled and lived this bizarre social life in Paris.

“Harry and Meghan do have an important existence. They have philanthropies, causes and big public platforms.

“That would make it easier in a sense to be shut off by the rest of the Royal Family because the royals don’t feel they’ve sent them off.”
