Prince Harry reeling as Royal Family's latest move 'shows how far he's fallen'

Prince Harry is travelling to the UK this week for an important Invictus Games event but his family members are not expected to be there which shows “how far he has fallen,” according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex founded the Invictus Games in 2014 as an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan, speaking to royal correspondent Michael Cole, said the royals “came out in force” at the launch ceremony for the Invictus Games in 2014.

King Charles, Camilla and Prince William were all in attendance to support Harry, O’Sullivan noted.

However, it’s thought that none of the Royal Family will be in attendance on Wednesday when Harry will attend an event at St Paul’s Cathedral.

According to reports, no senior members of the Royal Family are expected to be there but Harry is set to meet his father during his visit to England.

Making a comparison to the 2014 event where many royals were present, O’Sullivan said it is a “clear indication of how far he has fallen in terms of the rest of the Royal Family who frankly can’t stand the sight of him anymore”.

But the Royal Family have faced some backlash for their apparent lack of support in “boycotting” the Invictus Games.

A former courtier told The Daily Beast: “Charles has made it quite clear he is ready to be friendly and supportive to Harry in his capacity as a private person, as his dad, but he is not going to throw the weight of the institution behind Invictus again.

“This all seems very logical inside the Palace bubble, but the trouble is that people who don’t particularly care about such things, who are dimly aware that the royals spend their days visiting community centres and opening supermarkets, are going to wonder why they are boycotting this terrific charity that is headed by the King’s son.

“Many of us think this is a classic example of the royals cutting off their nose to spite their face because Invictus is clearly exactly the kind of organisation the royal family should be supporting.

“If a bridge is ever going to be built [between Harry and the royals], Invictus is the bridgehead to build it from, and they should get on and do it.”
