Prince Harry has passed a major milestone this week as it is now less than two years to go until his Invictus Games returns to the UK. The competition, which is part of Prince Harry’s foundation to help ex-servicemen and women, will be hosted in Birmingham in 2027.

The Invictus Games, which will be based at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), will begin on July 10, 2027, and end on July 17, 2027. Competitors from around the globe will be welcomed to join the competition, which this year was held in Canada.

Prince Harry is expected to return to his home country for the event, flying all the way from his family home in Montecito, California, where he has lived since quitting life in 2020.

It is not known whether his wife Meghan Markle, or their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will join him.

However, it is hoped that the competition will not only bring together ex-servicemen and women, but also members of the Royal Family too.

Since quitting royal life and the UK five years ago, it has been widely reported that Harry has experienced rifts with some of his royal relatives, especially his brother Prince William, 43, and his father King Charles, 76.

However, it has been reported that Harry, 40, who has publicly said he wants reconciliation, has invited the royals to the 2027 Invictus Games. It is not yet known whether or not they will attend.

Just weeks ago a source told The Mail on Sunday: “Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family.

“Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part.

“The Royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him, which might be reciprocated.”

The Duke is reportedly sending an e-invitation first, which will be followed up with a paper one closer to the date.
