Prince Harry and Meghan slammed in expert’s 9-word rant on award win | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have received their Humanitarians of the Year award one week ago, but royal experts are still baffled by the win. Last week, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out in New York City to attend the Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day gala.

At the gala, the couple were named Humanitarians of the Year as a result of their work in mental health and raising awareness through their Archewell Foundation. While the couple seemed delighted at the award win, royal experts and members of the public did not all feel the same.

Although Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, have done plenty of good work with their mental health projects, some royal experts believed that the award should not have been given to them as a result of their personal lives and rifts.

This view was aired by royal expert Phil Dampier who slammed the couple as he associated humanitarians as those who try to create peace – something he believes Harry and Meghan do not achieve in their own family lives.

He criticised this with his nine-word verdict: “They can’t even make peace with their own families.”

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Mr Dampier told royal editor Matt Wilkinson: “It does make me laugh when they get these humanitarian awards.

“I regard a humanitarian as somebody who tries to make peace with people. They can’t even make peace with their own families.”

This is a reference to the fact that Harry and Meghan both have rifts with some of their relatives, with Harry famously not being on talking terms with his brother Prince William.

Likewise, Meghan has rifts within her own family and is not believed to be in contact with her father Thomas Markle or the majority of his side of the family.

The Royal Family have not commented on Harry and Meghan winning their award last week.
