Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's '2024 redemption plan' in ruins after Christmas move

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s hopes of a redemption in 2024 have been dashed after the couple failed to “show unity” once again at Christmas, one royal author has claimed.

The gloomy prognosis comes after a torrid year for Team Sussex. The couple’s poll ratings nose-dived following the release of Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare, and Meghan’s short-lived podcast, “Archetypes”, was nixed in June as the couple’s Spotify deal collapsed.

Couple this with the South Park and Family Guy skewering, and it’s hard to shake the feeling that Hollywood is tiring of the couple.

Harry and Meghan are not helping themselves out, however. According to royal author Phil Dampier, the couple squandered yet another golden opportunity to rehabilitate their image by choosing to spend Christmas in California instead of with the rest of the Royal Family at Sandringham.

He explained: “Harry and Meghan have let it be known that they see 2024 as their year of redemption, to which my reaction is good luck with that.

“It’s a trite phrase dreamt up by their Hollywood PR people and in reality means very little.

“Actions speak louder than words and the Sussexes need to do things which will convince the public on both sides of the Pond that they want to redeem themselves, not just talk about it.”

He continued: “The royals put on a show of unity at Christmas, with even Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Fergie being allowed to walk to church and join them for lunch.

“The message was clear – everyone was welcome except Harry and Meghan.”

By refusing to be team players, the author told Fabulous, the Sussexes have isolated themselves, while allowing Prince William and Princess Kate to shine in the spotlight.

“I think the penny has finally dropped with them [the Sussexes] that they can never compete with an ancient institution admired around the world, particularly the good will still lingering from the late Queen’s reign.

“William and Kate have never been more popular and the Sussexes can’t hold a candle to them.”
