Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were invited to travel to Jamaica for the premier of the new Bob Marley film by Paramount boss Brian Robbins, a friend of the couple has revealed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex came under heavy criticism yesterday after they posed for photos with Jamaican prime minister Andrew Holness, who has been vocal about his views for Jamaica to become a republic and ditch King Charles as its head of state.
But an insider has said that their attendance at the glitzy premiere was becuase Mr Robbins had invited them there. They claim that the Sussexes are friends with his family, whose wife and three children live in Los Angeles.
The source told Mail Online that Harry and Meghan “have long been fans of Bob Marley’s music and message” and “have a personal friendship with the Robbins family, who invited them”.
